Tour des Muverans – Quiet trails and big mountain views

This hidden gem in the Swiss Alps is a four-day circuit around the Grand and Petit Muveran peaks. Starting at the peaceful Derborence Lake, the route takes you through wild, remote landscapes, over six mountain passes and past three alpine lakes. Expect wide-open views of Mont Blanc, the Dents du Midi and the dramatic peaks of the Valais and Vaud Alps. Well-marked trails and welcoming mountain huts make this a rewarding adventure without technical difficulty. However, you’ll need good fitness for a minimum of six hours of walking a day. A fantastic option if you’re looking for quiet paths, authentic Swiss mountain charm, and big panoramic rewards.

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD

Accommodation while up high on the mountain will be in mountain refuges on a shared basis. Sleeping arrangements consist of dormitories.

The quality of the food at all huts is excellent as are the wines and local beers. Food tends to be hearty, owing to the nature of the mountain physical activity and the cheese orientated culture of the alpine regions. Vegetarian and vegan options, or options that reflect allergies, can be requested in advance.
